The Mask
Do take off your mask my lover
for you need not know
this fake romance is over
You come from distant
shores pretending ever
lasting love
knowing I will discover
your deceit during the
early part of morrow's
sunrise
Take off thy mask
serpent entwined
and coiled beneath
the rocks that
bind you
The Queen has
unearthed the vicious
lie and for this now
you must drink this
bitter wine
Hush listen not
come close and
hold me tight
I want to play
this foolish game
I'll glorify you
until the end
Put the mask on
and let us play
pretend to be my
Lancelot
not my friend
Let us embrace before
the moon decides
to let the sun appear
Dry all my tears with
your precious lips
savour the elixir you
longed to taste whilst
we unite our bodies
in this fictitious embrace
